It's the final week before the Unit 17 exhibition and the stress/excitement is growing.
I have also had a piece accepted for the Platform 16 exhibition at the Millennium Galleries Sheffield and have to install the last Sunday of the Unit 17 exhibition!

Chelsea Abbot has designed flyers to advertise the Unit 17 Exhibition. Time to start spreading the news of the exhibition. Flyer by: Chelsea Abbot
Good news we have found and agreed on a suitable venue! We will be ‘taking over’ one of the shops in the Forum Arcade. It’s big enough to accommodate nine artworks and will hopefully just need a fresh coat of paint. The Forum team is offering support and will include information on their social media sites. I will be taking part in a group exhibition in April 2016 based on the theme of contemporary contemporaneity and we have just started to look for a none gallery, gallery space. With a limited budget we are looking for a venue that we can convert into a white cube space. One of the plus points of being in a large group (9 in total) is that we have money in the budget for a decent space.
Today we have been for a second viewing of the gallery space now the previous shop fixtures and fittings have been removed. It’s exciting but daunting. Time to push on with the work as the deadline approaches!
Overall feedback from the Ripple Effect exhibition has been overwhelmingly positive, onto the next exhibition! Some hopefully interesting photos of the venue! |
