Today is installation day for the Ripple Effect, first thing we collect equipment and any large artwork and have our ladder and equipment training. Then we decide as a group which art work should go where, some artists have a very definite idea about where they want to hang their work others are more flexible. Decisions made we start installing and before we know it, it’s done. All that remains is to return tomorrow to prep for the preview!

Today we have been painting and cleaning the gallery space ready for installation day. The space is cold and damp but with some paint and a mop we have transformed it. Tomorrow all our artwork will arrive and we will turn it for an empty space into a gallery! I am showing six mono prints of abstract landscapes – which are mounted but not framed as I think this will better fit the atmosphere of the warehouse style gallery. Deciding on the group exhibition title has been a challenge but we have settled on Ripple Effect, to represent the ripples of excitement and interest we hope our work will send out into Sheffield.
Our group will include work from (list). We are sculptors, photographers, illustrators, printers etc. an eclectic mix that will need curating at some point.
The venue has been booked and the date set for the collaborative exhibition I am participating in!
